Would like to recommend a board game if I may...
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:47:56 pm »
Anyone played Pandemic? It's quite enjoyable. It's a co-op game where you play a team of researchers trying to cure several different diseases before they wipe humanity off the face of the earth.

My wife and I have been playing it pretty regularly. We've not tried it with more than two players yet, so I don't know firsthand how it handles more, but I assume it does so with no trouble.

It's extremely challenging, but we've managed to beat it a few times (though we were accidentally cheating for most of them).

Anyway, just thought I'd share.
Do we not hear anything yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying God? Do we not smell anything yet of God's putrification? Even Gods prutrefy! God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.

We played it at the Library Meetup and enjoyed it thoroughly. There were three of us and it felt challenging each time. We won twice, once narrowly, once comfortably. We also lost once. It was a lot of fun each time!

Yes, it's one of my favorites.  I'm recently finding myself with a few Z-Man games I want to picking up.  I recently also ordered Saboteur published by them.

Pandemic's got quite a following, and new expansions about to be released.  Pam and I have a pretty good time with it when we bring it out, quick enough to even play over a lunch hour at work as well.  The cooperative nature is quite refreshing, and really does it better than other coop games I've tried such as Arkham Horror.

Yeah, I'm looking pretty hard at Agricola right now, but it's a bit pricey.

I got it a while back.  It's a fun game but I have only gotten to play it a couple of times.  Z-Man has put out some good offerings like this and Duel in the Dark.

Quacks seek political endorsement because they can't prove that their methods work...One of the surest signs that a treatment doesn't work is a political campaign to legalize its use.
